If this sounds like you, it’s time to look through your archives for your finest shots, because the 2016 Vertical Photo Contest is officially open! We’re calling all rotary-wing photographers — amateur and professional alike — to submit their very best photos in three categories:

New this year, we’ve eliminated the entry fee and introduced a Readers’ Choice Award, which will be based on the number of online votes each photo receives. Your friends can vote for your photo once in every 24-hour period, so the sooner you submit your entries, the more chances you have to win.
The 2016 Vertical Photo Contest officially closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on October 14, 2016. Shortly after, we’ll announce our winners in these prize categories:
GRAND PRIZE – $1,000 cash, plus photo on the cover of the Dec-Jan Vertical (One winner)
FIRST PLACE – $500 cash (One winner in each category)
SECOND PLACE – $250 cash (One winner in each category)
THIRD PLACE – $100 cash (One winner in each category)
READERS’ CHOICE – $500 cash (One winner)
All winning photos will be featured on our social media channels and in the December/January issue of Vertical Magazine. Entrants grant MHM Publishing the right to publish their photos in the December/January issue of Vertical Magazine, and to use them for contest promotional purposes. Entries will not be used for any other purpose without the permission of the photographer.
